What do you love most about teaching?
The joy of watching eager minds light up with understanding and enthusiasm has continued to keep me returning for another year time and time again.
What do you love most about New Harvest Christian School (NHCS)?
I love the freedom that Holy Spirit has at this campus. Students are encouraged to pray for their families, one another, community, nation, and the world.
Staff and teachers work diligently to be connected to a student’s home, church, and outside interests.
What do you think students love most about NHCS?
K-4 through 8th grades are taught to see one another as family. This is a caring environment.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
Jeremiah 33:3 is my favorite Bible verse: “Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.”
This verse has been powerfully demonstrated in my life. Students in my classes will see prayer modeled during Bible, as current events might warrant, and as Holy Spirit leads.
What are your spiritual gifts and talents and how do you use them at New Harvest Christian School?
Intercession has become a vital part of who I am. It is thrilling to see Holy Spirit grow my students to take prayer to new levels!
What is an examples of a project or way your school teaches that is unique compared to other schools and why is this important?
NHCS has a unique focus on the Masters in Art, Literature, and Classical Music.
What is your favorite book and why?
Depending on the need or the situation, my favorite book may be the Psalms, Isaiah, or the gospel of John–all in the book of books: the Bible!
What is your favorite food?
Salmon. While on outreach in Ireland, I had salmon at least once a day. Yum, yum!
What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Butter Pecan hits the spot!
What is your favorite song?
This is a hard one to answer as I am a worshipper and have been a vocalist of sorts since I was a child.
Today I would select AMAZING GRACE performed on a bagpipe–tomorrow a song by Keith Green or Robyn Mark (Ireland) or something new and current.
What is your favorite field trip or special project your school has taken/completed?
First grade incorporated field trips projects, crafts, and cooking experiences as often as possible. They each become our favorite.
What do you like most about the families or parents that enroll their children at New Harvest Christian School?
Our families want NHCS to be an extension of the Christian values and virtues they cherish. We support one another is fostering the development of a spirit of excellence and devotion to Christ as Lord.
What is your training?
BA California State Long Beach; I have a California Life Credential; I have held ACSI and WASC certifications, I have been a tutor for Sylvan Learning Centers as well as a homeschool instructor.
